Congo health ministry has revealed a new wave of the Ebola virus in the country after recording 15 new cases of the deadly virus. The ministry confirmed the virus in a pregnant woman hospitalized last month with high fever and persistent vomiting symptoms.
However, the 34-year-old was confirmed dead a few hours later from multiple organ failure. Based on the ministry’s report, the case is the 16th outbreak of the deadly virus in the vast central African state.
The ministry continued that the latest outbreak is in central Kasai province, with 28 suspected cases recorded. Following this, authorities have urged strict adherence to preventive measures, including frequent handwashing and social distancing in high-risk areas.

In a recent development, the World Health Organization has vowed to rapidly halt the spread of the Ebola virus and protect communities. WHO revealed that four health workers were among the 15 people who had died from the recent outbreak of the virus.
