The Nigeria Police Force has revealed that not less than 151 senior officers are currently facing the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) over alleged misconduct.
The disciplinary exercise on issues which include breach of professional ethics commenced on Monday and is expected to run until Friday, July 25, 2025, at the IGP Smart Conference Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The FDC is statutorily mandated to review and determine disciplinary cases involving officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and above.
According to reports, the affected officers are drawn from various commands and formations across the country.
It was gathered that officers are expected to undergo a comprehensive review of their cases in accordance with the police regulations and disciplinary procedures.
At the end of the proceedings, the committee is expected to forward appropriate recommendations to the Police Service Commission (PSC) for necessary action.
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, while reiterating the stance of the Force on discipline and accountability, restated his administration’s commitment to upholding the core values of integrity and ethical conduct among officers.
According to a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP maintained that the Force would not tolerate any form of misconduct or act of indiscipline capable of eroding public confidence.
He added that the ongoing disciplinary exercise is a reflection of the Nigeria Police Force’s renewed drive to entrench professionalism, ensure transparency, and reinforce public trust.
“The Force remains resolute in its mission to build an accountable, responsible, and service-oriented policing institution where the rule of law and operational standards are strictly adhered to,” the statement added.
