Africa-centric media platform, Afrocover, has announced the winner of its second-edition monthly essay competition. Favour Chukwuemeka Ikechukwu, a 500-level student of Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering at the University of Lagos, emerged as the overall winner.
The competition, which is the second of its kind for Afrocover, was designed to foster critical thinking among African youths. The edition was themed “Exploring Multiculturalism and Multilingualism as Blessings or Curses to the Political Development of African Nations.”
Favour came out victorious from a pool of thousands of high-quality entries submitted across the continent. His article stood out for its depth, originality, and strict adherence to the competition guidelines.
According to Afrocover, all submissions were thoroughly screened through AI detection and plagiarism tests to ensure authenticity. The organization emphasized its commitment to integrity by using a fair and transparent grading system throughout the selection process.
Accordingly, Favour’s outstanding work earned him the grand prize of ₦50,000. Afrocover has reiterated its commitment to promoting excellence and promises to sustain the monthly competition as a platform for amplifying young African voices.
