Youth leaders representing the 179 communities in Anambra State have thrown their weight behind Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, pledging to deliver overwhelming support for his re-election in the forthcoming November 8, 2025, governorship poll.
The declaration of support was made during the maiden edition of a two-day leadership training workshop held at the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU) Hall, Government House, Awka.
Speaking on behalf of the youth, President General of the ASATU Youth Wing, Ken Okoli, lauded Governor Soludo’s administration for placing youths at the core of its development agenda.
The workshop, themed “The Role of ASATU Youth in Deepening and Consolidating Leadership, Security, Governance, and Value System for Community Development”, was organized in collaboration with the Office of the Accountant-General of Local Government and the Industrial Training Fund.
According to Okoli, the initiative aligns with the Soludo administration’s Solution Agenda, emphasizing its consistent commitment to youth empowerment and transformational policies.
“Anambra youths have never had it this good. The present administration has placed us at the very core of its developmental blueprint,” Okoli said.
He praised the state government for several youth-focused projects, including the launch of the 1Youth-2Skills initiative, the recruitment of healthcare professionals and teachers, as well as the construction of key infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, and dual-lane roads across major communities.
“All the programmes of Mr Governor are geared to the human capital development of the youths,” Okoli added. “From the building of the ‘Solution Fun City’ to tackling insecurity head-on, youth remains at the centre of Mr Governor’s achievements.”
He further encouraged Anambra youths to take their civic responsibility seriously by turning out en masse to vote for Soludo on election day, describing it as an opportunity to “change the narrative and build a greater Anambra.”
The event drew the presence of notable dignitaries including the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim; member representing Anaocha II Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Sir Ejike Okechukwu; Commissioner for Lands, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi (SAN); and Social Development Specialist, Chudi Mojekwu.

One of the high points of the workshop was an official visit by the participants to the New Government House and the ‘Solution Fun City,’ both symbols of the administration’s development vision.
In a related development, Governor Soludo has approved a monthly stipend of ₦50,000 for executive members and elected youth leaders of the 179 communities in the state under ASATU Youth Wing.
The announcement, made during the workshop, marks the first time such a gesture has been institutionalized in Anambra’s history.
The monthly allowance is expected to cover logistics and operational costs incurred by the youth leaders in the discharge of their community leadership responsibilities.
The workshop served not only as a platform for training but also as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots empowerment.
