The Adamawa State House of Assembly has received notice of protest from the people of Ganye, Ganye Constituency, over non-representation of its people in the Assembly.

The protest is reportedly scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2025.

The directive was disclosed in a statement signed by the Ganye leader, Abdulrahman Njidda, saying, “We urge all patriotic citizens to come out en masse to join the protest.”

“Notice is hereby given that some concerned citizens of Ganye intend to commemorate the upcoming Democracy Day by staging a peaceful protest against the Independent National Electoral Commission’s inability to conduct a bye-election to fill the vacant seat occasioned by the passing of our late Honourable Member, Adamawa State House of Assembly, a year ago,” the intending protesters said.

The notice asked those who desire to participate in the protest to gather at the Ganye Local Council’s roundabout at 6:00 a.m., then to move to the Atiku Junction (in Ganye) at 7:00 a.m., and finally proceed to the INEC Office at 8:00 a.m. “to deliver our protest letter.”

The notice assured that the protest will be peaceful, with no tolerance for unruly behaviour.

It further stressed that security operatives will maintain close surveillance to prevent hoodlums from infiltrating the peaceful protest and creating a security breach.
