The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) prototype to revamp the current company registration system. The chief executive of the commission, Hussaini Magaji disclosed this at the 2025 stakeholders forum meeting today.

During the event, the CAC technical team was present to attend to customer complaints and provide solutions to registration challenges.

Magaji described the strategy as a game changer aimed at reducing registration timelines and facilitating business across the country. Also, it allows for instant name reservation approvals, making it easy to open email accounts.

The portal also can facilitate business registration using the owner’s national identification number (NIN). According to Magaji, a certificate of incorporation would be delivered to the applicant’s email once the NIN is verified.

The chief executive also disclosed that there might be delays due to external approval from the National Identity Management Commission. However, he noted a contingency plan using AI-powered photo ID matching has been built to address the identified issue.

He adds that plans are ongoing to introduce a two-factor authentication system with OTP verification for all transactions. According to him, there will be no modifications without the knowledge and consent of registered directors.

He continued by announcing a new CAC mobile application that will be launched in the final quarter of 2025. This enables customers to continuously monitor, track and manage their transactions anytime, anywhere, through the mobile app.

The Registrar General also revealed a service fee review, scheduled to take effect from August 1st, 2025. He noted that this is to maintain service quality and implement ongoing reforms across all operations.
