Aiyedatiwa assigns portfolios to newly inaugurated commissioners

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Monday assigned portfolios to the newly sworn-in members of the State Executive Council, following their formal inauguration.

The commissioners, who took the oath of office on Monday, were given various responsibilities aimed at driving the administration’s developmental agenda across key sectors.

According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the appointments reflect Governor Aiyedatiwa’s intention to inject new energy and expertise into his cabinet as the state navigates critical phases of growth and governance.

Notably, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun was assigned the Ministry of Education, while Engr. Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye will oversee Infrastructure, Lands and Housing. The Ministry of Water Resources and Public Sanitation goes to Hon. Ayodele Akande, and Engr. Alabi Johnson is to head the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Others include Alhaji Amidu Takuro, who takes charge of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and Otunba Adewale Akinlosotu, assigned to Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations. Mr. Idowu Ajanaku now oversees the Ministry of Information and Orientation, while Dr. Seun Abosede Osamaye leads Women Affairs and Social Development.

Dr. Tob Loko has been appointed Commissioner for Environment; Mr. Olaolu Akindolire will head Budget and Economic Planning; and Hon. Sunday Olajide will manage Physical Planning and Urban Development. The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is now under Mr. Omoyofunmi Segun Henry.

Other appointees include Pastor Bola Ademuwagun for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives; Engr. Leye Akinola for Agriculture and Forestry; and Dr. Banji Awolowo Ajaka, who is to oversee the Ministry of Health. Hon. Adesoji Afolabi has been named Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.

The Governor urged the newly appointed commissioners to bring their wealth of experience and professionalism to bear in delivering good governance to the people of the state.

Monday’s development comes as part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen institutions and deepen service delivery across all levels of government.
