Jigawa state police command has arrested two suspects for murder and armed robbery cases in different parts of the state. The police Public relations officer, Shisu Adam, disclosed this on Thursday at the state capital in Dutse.
Speaking on the first case, the command revealed that Illiyasu Musa, 40, murdered his 30-year-old ex-wife, Hadiza Sale. Musa killed his ex-wife by hitting her with a stick while returning from the market at night.
The suspect has been evading arrest since July 10, 2025, when he allegedly committed the crime. Musa, with six children, was finally arrested on July 23, 2025, at Tambarin-Gwani village, where he had been hiding.
According to the command, the suspect is currently undergoing investigation at the state criminal investigation before his prosecution in court. In the second case, the command revealed the arrest of a 20-year-old suspect, Alpha Somalia, in connection with an armed robbery case.

The police PRO noted that Somalia was one of the hoodlums who invaded Abubakar Yahaya in his residence. The suspect assaulted the victim physically with a sharp object and stole a sum of 170,000 with a Tecno smartphone.
Yahaya was rushed to the Roni primary health care centre, where he received medical care and was later discharged. Following this, the state commissioner of police, Dahiru Mohammad, lauded the police efforts for apprehending the suspects.
Mohammad reiterated the commitment to protecting lives, property and maintaining peace within the state. He therefore encouraged all residents to be law-abiding and provide reliable information that will aid in crime prevention.
