Oba Rashidi Ladoja has been nominated as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. The nomination was made by Olubadan-in-Council during a council meeting held at the New Palace, Oke-Aremo, on Monday.
The Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Akinola moved the motion to nominate Ladoja as the Olubadan, and seconded by Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole.
Oba Ladoja was however not present in the meeting which had all the beaded crown High Chiefs in attendance.
The Balogun added that Ladoja’s name would be forwarded to the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for approval.
It’s worth noting that Ladoja’s nomination comes at the heel of the demise of the 43th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin. Oba Owolabi Olakulehin died on Monday, July 7, 2025 at the age of 90. He died barely a year after receiving his staff of office in July 2024.
