An accident in Ikirun, Osun state, has left one dead and three others injured in the early hours of Tuesday. The death of the victim, called Usman Mohammed, was confirmed by the state police command.
According to the PRO, Abiodun Ojelabi, the accident occurred in Oja-Oba market located in Ikirun road. The incident happened after a granite truck lost control, collided with a motorcyclist and veered off into a nearby shop.
Usman Mohammed, who was standing by the roadside, died in the accident, while three others are receiving medical attention in the hospital. Following this, the PRO urge road users to be security conscious while commuting on the road.
He reiterated the command commitment to protecting the lives and properties of the state residents. Three months ago, a father and his three children lost their lives on the Ilesa Express road in Osun State.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) explained that the accident was caused by a trailer that drove on the wrong lane. The corps spokesperson, Agnes Ogungbemi, revealed that the truck driver has been detained by the police for prosecution.
Also, a sum of N508,900, recovered from the scene were handed over to the relatives of the deceased. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital, while the woman injured was taken to a private hospital for treatment.
