The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), has confirmed a fatal road crash involving a blue volvo FL6 truck loaded with planks and a white commercial bus marked AKD 336 YD. The incident occurred at the Ibeju Bus Stop along the Lekki-Epe expressway, resulting in six fatalities, including a child, and nine others injured.
This incident was made known via a statement signed by Lagos State Traffic Management Authority Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq.
The Lagos state traffic management authority disclosed that the accident was caused by overspeeding and reckless driving.
The injured victims which includes three males and six females were taken to the Federal Medical Center, Epe, while the bodies of those who lost their lives were taken to the FMC morgue.
In view of this, the LASTMA general manager, Bakare-Oki, offered condolences to the family of the victims and warned drivers to avoid dangerous drive, especially this ember months.
Bakare-Oki while applauding the quick response of the emergency agency to the scene of the crash, encouraged drivers to be patient, disciplined, and adopt defense driving skills.
Note that, this incident happened a couple of weeks after a crash between a Toyota Highlander and a commercial bus at Volkswagen, Inward Mile 2.
The incident occurred when the Highlander which was at a top speed lost control and crashed into a commercial bus that was illegally picking passenger by the roadside.
The driver of the highlander died immediately at the scene of accident.
