Nigerian Army disperses protesting students with live bullets

According to reports, students of Universities in Ondo State were brutally attacked in Akure today by operatives of the Nigerian Army.

The students had continued to demonstrate their grievances over the lingering ASUU strike by barricading the Akure-Ilesa highway since Monday.

As revealed, the heavy demonstrations was organized by the Ondo State Joint Campus Committee and the Student union Governments of AAUA, FUTA, OSUTECH and host of others.

According to reports, as the protesting students began to continue their routine demonstrations on the highway, operatives of the Nigerian Army stormed the venue unannounced, dispersed the students with live bullets and devastated all their protecting equipments.

As at press time, the extent of damage caused to the properties has not been ascertained but some of the students sustained injuries.
