The federal government through the office of the minister of the Interior has declared Monday, June 13 as a public holiday to celebrate democracy day slated for June 12.
The minister for interior, Rauf Aregbeshola made this revelation via a statement signed by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr. M.L Shuaib.
The minister facilitates with the citizens while urging them to support the present administration to ensure a united and successful nation. He urged citizens to use the break period to reflect on the country’s democracy independence since 1960 and the sacrifices of our past leaders.
According to him, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The former Osun governor urged citizens to keep faith in democracy. He stated democracy is a better than an alternative that has proved destructive and fatal to the nation.
