NNPP debunks claims of adopting Obi as candidate

Sources from the New Nigeria Peoples Party have revealed that its Presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso will never be a Vice President to Peter Obi. This comes as a reaction from the party after reports about an ongoing negotiation for a merger between NNPP and LP surfaced.

The party spokesman, Mr. Agbo attested that indeed there is an ongoing negotiation between the two parties. However, he revealed that such negotiation will not birth Kwankwaso to set down for Peter Obi to be the presidential candidate.

Also, Mr. Agbo cited the strength of the NNPP within Nigeria and the diaspora. He described the claims as an insult to the party while claiming it’s bigger than settling for a VP slot. Mr. Agbo opined that the merger is aimed at bringing a stop to the bad administration that has run the country for years.

Before now, the Presidential candidate of NNPP has overtly expressed his desire to pick Peter Obi as his running mate. However, supporters of Peter Obi have refuted every proposal that won’t adopt Obi as a Presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, the possibility of a coalition between the two parties looks impossible at the moment. Both sides are adamant about picking their candidate for the presidency, this difference is a major stumbling block in the negotiation.
