The federal capital territory police commissioner, Babaji Sunday, in conjunction with a representative of the State Security Service, addressed about 150 commercial motorcyclist units across the state during a meeting held at the command headquarters on Tuesday.

In a press statement released, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Omotayo Oduniyi, stated the Commissioner admonished motorcyclists to turn a new leaf, obey traffic laws and assist in fishing out bad eggs.

The statement read in part “The recent outbreak of violence is primarily linked to commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada riders, has become a threat periodically playing out as self-help in obtaining justice known as jungle justice, vandalization of government and private properties, and sundry antisocial behaviors demanding an immediate redress”

The Commissioner of Police, Babaji, further announced that sanctions according to the rule of law will be meted on law trespassing persons.

The commissioner urged members of the public to continue to be observant and report any suspicious or abnormal occurrence to the Police.
