The Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Kuje Prison, Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria. In a video released by the group late last night, the group indicated its involvement in the attack.

According to the clip, ISWAP revealed how its fighters occupied the facility while carrying out the attack. The video illustrated how ISWAP members marched in their numbers with the facility ablaze.

Additionally, in the clip, an unidentified man in a native attire joined the group from the building. He joined the terrorists as they shouted at the top of their voices.

Confirming the development, the Islamic State’s A’maq Agency uploaded the video with the description “Fighters of Islamic State attacked Kuje Prison in Abuja yesterday and succeeded in freeing dozens of prisoners.

Recall, that the correctional facility in Kuje witnessed a strong attack on Tuesday night. The attack witnessed the release of some prominent figures in the country serving jail terms in the facility. Also, reports claim that over 64 terrorists were rescued as well.
