Man’s remains found in bedroom 4 years after death, police locate family

The remains of a man identified as John Aderemi Abiola have been found in his room four years after he was last seen. The incident happened in Adeosun/Idi Orogbo community in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Abiola was an engineer based in port Harcourt before moving to his house in Ibadan. He was said to have earlier informed people of his intention to go to port Harcourt for ileya festival.

It was however gathered that his community members made a move to clear his compound after his new neighbors complained of reptiles entering his compound.

The community decided to clear his compound on Sunday. While the clearing was going on, the labourers were said to notice Abiola’s Volks,wagen Gthe bush had coveredmber AKD 769 DC which had beenbbush

Also, one of the landlords, identified as Mohammed Ademola, who also worked for and used to interact with Abiola, was said to have decided to check the late engineer’s room which was left open.

It was gathered that Ademola saw Abiola’s remains on the bed,werercing him to raise the alarm.

Abiola’s boxers was said to have been seen around his waist, while the top he wore had b is rotten flesh.

In addition, it was also gathered that his phones, a laptop, a TV, and his wardrobe, among other items, were also found in his house.

Meanwhile, Police in Oyo State has announced that they have located and contacted the family members of Abiola.

The police said “Preliminary findings from residents of the community and the driver’s license found in his wallet revealed that the deceased was indeed Aderemi John Abiola and was last seen around 2018, a fact corroborated by family members of the deceased when contacted by detectives of the Command attached to the SCID.
