The organized labour has yet again reject the new minimum wage N54,000 proposed by the federal government on Tuesday.

One of the leaders in the organized labour who was present in the meeting disclosed this the newsmen.

Recall that the last meeting between Federal government and the organized labour ended abruptly, when Federal government made a proposal of N48,000 as the minimum wage and the committee walks out from the meeting.

Last week the labour made it known to the federal government to discard any thought of presenting N100,000 as the minimum wage.

The union bids the government to be serious about the increment of the wage, insisting that it’s proposed minimum wage is N615,000 after conservative estimation.

N615,000 or Nothing

NLC stands firm on their ground, demanding that anything less that N615,000 as the wage is acceptable.

They disclosed that the figure (N615,000) was a result of a thorough examination of the cost of living Nigerian workers and the masses in all the of the country.

The organized labour had early revealed that, they made research’s before concluding on their proposed amount.

“Our research was based on a family with both parents alive and four children without the burden of having other dependents with them.”
