Jason Ian Poblete, a US Attorney has accused USAID and the State Department of cutting fund to prevent an investigation into the genocide of Christians in Nigeria.
Poblete disclosed in a Feb. 5 post on X (formerly Twitter) that he worked with a team of experts some years ago to expose the genocide of Christians in Nigeria. However, he alleged that USAID denied funding.
Several years ago, we worked with a team of highly qualified experts assembled a team to expose the genocide of Christians in Nigeria to USAID and the State Department. Funding was needed. We were cut off at the knees. Why?
The Attorney explained that Catholics and other Christian organizations were not welcomed for US Government grants.
He noted that the US aid establishments intends to hide the genocide and blame the killings on global warming.
He stated that;
There is a genocide taking place in Nigeria today, but the Washington, DC, foreign aid establishment wants to hide it and blame the killings on global warming.
Poblete’s allegations follow an ongoing investigation into USAID revealing alleged money laundering and corruption. In the past few days, the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has reported several cases of wrongful spending by the organization.
David Hundeyin, a Nigerian journalist recently reported that USAID paid $3.3M to DAI Global LLC – a vendor in Nigeria. Hundeyin noted that the firm has received at least $48 million from USAID between August 2020 and January 2025.
According to him, the funds may be related to corruption and money laundering.
