Senate President, Senator Natasha

The husband of the Kogi Central Senator Emmanuel Uduaghan has reacted over an alleged harassment issue involving her wife and the Senate President has the chieftain defends wife’s claim.

Uduaghan,  who is the  husband to the Senator representing Kogi Central in the Red Chamber of the House of Assembly in Abuja, has assert that his aware of the Senate President’s move towards his wife.

The allegation came as tensions at the floor of the house get intense after a disagreement between Senator Natasha (Kogi Central) and the Senate President about seat distribution.

The tough conversations have also prompted a legal lawsuit by the distinguished senator, resulting in varying public reactions since the fight began.

A vital response in regards the issue is the reaction of the wife of the Senate President, in response  to the issue yesterday, file a lawsuit against Natasha while adding  that her husband is a good husband and father who is loved by his family and community.

However, according from the report coming from the Warri kingdom chieftain, Uduaghan, said he is not surprised by the allegation, stating her wife has confided in him for too long about the President’s move towards her.

He added  that her wife confided in him about her dealings with Akpabio, whom he considered a family friend.

Furthermore, the Senator’s husband, confesses to  his beliefs that Akpabio’s family has a family friend, the reason  he chose to meet with the Senate President in order to resolve the situation amicably.

Similarly the Chieftain narrated  his meeting with the Senate President while compelling  the President to extend the courtesy and respect that his serving Senator’s wife  deserves to  her.

However, the private meeting, which he believed would settle the situation amicably, never did.

Uduaghan also recounts his  visit to the  Senate President to request that he treat his wife with dignity and respect, while also upholding the amicable relationship between the two families.

However, despite his polite approach, his wife continued to raise concerns about Mr Akpabio’s harassment, despite intervention.

Reason for defense

On Friday in an interview  on Arise Television Natasha claimed that Akpabio made unwanted attempts towards her on December 8, 2023, during her visit to his house in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

She further accused the Senate President of demanding  she provide him with favors in exchange for favorable consideration of her motions on the House floor //youtu.be/_kjj1KwrFB

In response to the development, the wife of Senate President Ekaeitte Akpabo has filed two defamation lawsuits against the federal lawmaker, seeking N350 billion in damages.

However, contrary to public reaction to the Senate President’s claim, Atiku Abubarka, the presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 general election, called for a federal investigation into the alleged harassment on Friday.

In a distinct reaction to the situation, former Senate President Bukola Saraki has recommended Akpabio to submit to an open investigation for fairness and transparency.

When asked about trusting her wife despite the scandal, Mr Emmanueel Uduaghan said he had more than confidence in her wife and trusted her even before she confided in him about the Senate President’s acts.
