Emotions ran high as 59 recently freed kidnap victims bid farewell to the Kaduna State Shelter Home after receiving medical and psychosocial support.

Their release was secured through a joint effort by the Kaduna State Government, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and security agencies.

Governor Una Sani, in a statement posted on his official Facebook page, confirmed that the victims spent 10 days under intensive care and monitoring before being certified medically and psychologically fit to return to their families and normal lives.

The governor further praised the victims for their courage and resilience and announced that the state government will provide them with start-up funds and tools to help them restart their lives.

“The victims have given strong assurances that they will put the terrible experience behind them and focus on their families and businesses,” Governor Sani stated. In recognition of their resilience and determination, the Kaduna State Government has pledged to provide them with startup funds and tools to help them rebuild their lives.

The governor reiterated the state’s commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property, emphasizing that the government will continue to implement its acclaimed Peace Model to sustain peace and security in Kaduna.

“We shall continue along this noble path despite the machinations of individuals whose stock in trade is to play politics with security,” Governor Sani added.
