All Progressive Congress (APC) stakeholders in Idanre Local Government have urged Ondo state Governor to relocate Owo Polytechnic to Idanre. The stakeholders made the appeal in a recent meeting with the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the town.

In their plea, the group highlighted how the recent conversion of the state-owned Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in Owo to a university necessitated the establishment of a new polytechnic in the state. More so, the group recommended that the governor should consider Idanre as the host community for the institution.

The body also emphasized that the project would enhance economic development and connectivity of the area. Meanwhile, the APC stakeholders in Idanre congratulated Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his recent inauguration for a new term of four years.

They went on to appeal to Lucky Aiyedatiwa to prioritize the dualization of Akure-Idanre road, and expand township roads in the town. The stakeholders in the meeting emphasized the need for strategic appointments in the state governor’s administration.

They claimed that the previous administration deemed it unnecessary to consider the town for key appointments in their administration. Likewise, the stakeholders also appreciate Chief Pius Akinyelure for his unwavering support towards the development of Idanre local government.

The group thanked him for the ongoing road project in the town which had significantly improved the infrastructure of the town. Lastly, the stakeholders pledged support for the leadership of the party, while emphasizing their commitment to its progress.
