In a bid to promote educational advancement and financial support for students at the grassroot level, the Honourable representing Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency and Chairman of the Nigeria Education Loans and Scholarship Board (NELFUND), Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, has called on students to take full advantage of the newly introduced student loan scheme.
During a courtesy visit by the leadership of the National Congress of Akoko Students (NACAS), Hon. Ehindero emphasized the significance of the NELFUND initiative in easing financial burdens for Nigerian students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds.
He reassured the student body of his commitment to ensuring that more students from Akoko and beyond benefit from the program.
The meeting, held at the Honourable’s office, had in attendance NACAS executives, including the National President, Comr. Ajisafe Emmanuel Ayowole; the General Secretary, Comr. Igbodola Promise Benjamin; the Vice President, Edward Ojikutut; and the Public Relations Officer, Comr. Ajana Emmanuel Olanrewaju. Also present were the Emeritus President, Comr. Olomosaye Olatunde Excel; the Emeritus Senate President, Comr. Borode Taofiq Ayomide; as well as other stakeholders such as Babatunde Kemisola, Adeosun Francis and Lemuel.
Emmanuel applauded Hon. Ehindero’s long-standing support for students, noting that his contributions have greatly impacted educational development in the Akoko region.
He further appealed for continuous engagement and assistance as NACAS prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Recognizing his exceptional support for students, NACAS conferred on Hon. Ehindero the prestigious title of NACAS Ambassador and presented him with an Award of Excellence.
The award, presented by Comr. Olomosaye Olatunde Excel and formally handed over by Comr. Akinyele Olalekan Lemuel, acknowledged the Honourable’s dedication to student welfare and educational progress.
While commending the MHR, the emeritus president, Olomosaye Excel said “I sincerely appreciate Honorable Ifeoluwa Ehindero for his dedication and support, not just to this administration but also to past administrations of NACAS.”
“Your contributions have been instrumental in executing numerous projects that have benefited our association.”
While making an appeal for further support, “I want to make a plea to you sir to continue your unwavering support, as it has been a great pillar in driving NACAS forward,” said Excel.
Hon. Ehindero reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring accessible education for all, stressing that the government’s student loan scheme was a major step toward bridging financial gaps in higher education. He encouraged students to spread awareness about NELFUND and urged them to utilize the opportunity responsibly.
