Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has praised the Dunamis International Gospel Centre for what he described as a “quintessential evangelism” during its recent crusade at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka. He commended the church for organizing the event in an orderly manner without obstructing public movement or inconveniencing road users.

Impressed by the event’s coordination, Soludo announced a refund of the fees the church paid for the venue and extended an invitation for future programs to be held at the location.

He also revealed plans for a major facelift of Ekwueme Square and its surroundings in the coming months, including improved lighting and beautification, aligning with Anambra’s identity as “The Light of the Nation.”

According to a statement released on Thursday by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the governor urged the church to intensify prayers for the state’s spiritual renewal and support the government’s efforts in rebuilding moral values among the youth.

While commending Dunamis Church, Governor Soludo praised Pastor Enenche for preaching messages that promote righteousness and godly living, he said, “We commend Pastor Enenche for preaching messages that promote righteousness and godly living. This will help reshape the minds of young people and contribute to building a safer and more prosperous Anambra State.”

However, before the Governor’s remarks, Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre delivered a sermon titled Serving the God of the Blessing. He stressed that God’s plan has always been to bless His people, citing biblical examples of Adam and Noah.

He urged the congregation to remain steadfast in faith, live righteously, and serve God, assuring them that obedience activates divine blessings.

“From the beginning, God declared His blessing upon Adam in Genesis 1:28, saying, ‘Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it.’ Even after the flood, God renewed this blessing with Noah in Genesis 9:1. This shows that God is committed to blessing those who walk with Him,” he said.

The governor’s commendation comes just days after he imposed a ban on open-air preaching across the state, citing concerns over noise pollution and public disturbances. Under the new directive, violators face a fine of ₦500,000.
