Tinubu makes key appointments for the NCDMB council

President Bola Tinubu has approved four new members to the Council of Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). The special adviser to the president, Bayo Onanuga stated that the appointment will fill vacancies and empower the board’s capacity.

According to the statement, Olusegun Omosehin, Wole Ogunsanya, Sam Onyechi, and Owel Oyanbo are the approved nominees by the president. Furthermore, Tinubu urged the new members to use their experience to enhance local content within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The NCDMB governing council reportedly consists of Representatives from key institutions including the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, among other institutions.

Tinubu administration to kick against illegal immigrants

Meanwhile, the appointment to the NCDMB board surfaced shortly after the FG announced that it would begin to suppress irregular migrants In the country starting on August 1, 2025.

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Ojo disclosed this in Abuja in a meeting with the Nigerian Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA.) Ojo disclosed that there would be an immigration program for the regularization of due processes from May 1 to August 1.

He also warned that the FG under the administration of Tinubu will no longer tolerate companies obstructing Nigeria’s immigration service from doing its duties.

Ojo noted that immigration service has a right to perform their job and do their duties according to virtue of law.

The minister emphasized that the government will go hard on any company that prevents the Nigerian immigration service from doing its duties. Also, while speaking on immigration service charges, the minister noted that current fees have been reviewed and negotiated with stakeholders.

The Minister added that a finalized breakdown will be officially released and signed by both the ministry and NECA.

According to him, the revised fee structure and the immigration amnesty program will take effect on May 1, 2025. Meanwhile, the will commence full enforcement against irregular migrants starting August 1, 2025.

The minister therefore encourages people to take advantage of the three months and subject themselves to established immigration protocols.
