The Lagos Ministry of Environment officials have ejected illegal inhabitants who turned the Oja Oba Bridge in the Adeniji Adele area of the state into their residence on Wednesday.

This activity was made public on Thursday through a video shared on the Twitter (now X) page of the Commissioner of Environment, Wahab Tokunbo.

Over the last few months, the state government has continually cracked down on illegal inhabitants who constructed structures and makeshift buildings under bridges across the state.

According to the commissioner, bridges are constructed to promote smooth movement and ensure orderliness in urban cities such as Lagos.

He said, “We have commenced a major clean-up and enforcement operation at Under Bridge, Oja Oba, Adeniji Adele, and Lagos Island.

These public spaces, meant for free movement and urban order, have been reclaimed to ensure a cleaner and safer environment for all.”

“Our commitment to restoring sanity and upholding environmental standards across Lagos remains unwavering.

“Let us all play our part in keeping our city clean and organized,” Wahab added.
