The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one Hadaina Hussaini, also known as Dan-taki, for making inciting comments on social media against the people of Edo State.

Hussaini, who was seen in a viral photo wearing a police uniform, had reportedly made a Facebook post with the caption: “I swear to Almighty God, we must do something for you guys, have you forgotten all your brothers that are leaving here in the North make my word, after one week you shall see the result.” The post has since sparked outrage across various social media platforms.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the Command clarified that Hussaini is not a serving member of the Nigeria Police Force. According to the statement, Hussaini was formerly a member of the Police Special Constabulary attached to the Kaduna State Constabulary Office, a voluntary outfit from which he was dismissed two years ago for misconduct.

“It is pertinent to note that his picture in police uniform was taken during his time as a special constabulary officer and dates back to before his dismissal,” the statement read. “The ID tag on his uniform clearly shows ‘PSC/KD,’ indicating his former position.”

The police have described his actions as not only misleading but also a potential threat to national peace and unity. DSP Hassan noted that preliminary investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will be charged to court in line with extant laws.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna Commissioner of Police, CP Rabi’u Muhammad, has reassured the public of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to maintaining peace and order, warning that hate speech and incitement will not be tolerated.

He also urged the public to remain calm and to report any suspicious activity or individuals capable of threatening the country’s peace to the nearest police station.
