The minister noted that the installation and operation of 90 percent of the new capacity has noticeably improved grid performance. He also disclosed that the pilot phase of the project which involves importation, and installation, among others is near completion.

He continued that the Nigerian electricity supply industry has transmitted and distributed the highest energy of 5,801 megawatts. According to him, this record broke the previous record achieved In 2021, marking a notable advancement in improving electricity in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Adelabu has called on the member states of the EU to continue to provide technical and financial support to Nigeria. Adelabu stressed that the assistance from these states will improve the power sector and the overall infrastructure within the country.

He noted that the power sector is the driving force Of the Nigerian economy and critical to the optimal performance of the economy. Similarly, he expressed the readiness of Nigeria to continue to work and collaborate with the union and its development partners.

He noted that the collaboration and cooperation of Nigerians will lead to achieving bilateral and multilateral agreements. The minister reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s committment to developing the country by addressing the electricity challenges facing it.
