The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has advocated President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the 2027 election. This is reportedly due to their outstanding leadership qualities and commendable policies in their administration.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, Yemi Adaramodu moved the motion to support Bola Tinubu for another term. While speaking at the group meeting held in Ekiti on Friday, Adaramodu lauded Tinubu for his decisive economic reforms in the country.
He expressed that the president’s decisions have revitalized the country’s economy and improved the security and well-being of Nigerian citizens. The senator described the president’s reform as transformational with an impact on the socio-economic landscape.
Similarly, the Speaker of Ekiti Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his leadership qualities and commitment to governance. Aribasoye, who endorsed the state governor for reelection, disclosed that Oyebanji is committed to the welfare and development of the state.
Likewise, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) Nyesom Wike has promised to secure Rivers State and FCT for APC in 2027. Wike, speaking at a public event, declared he’s a PDP member and insisted no one has the power to stop him.
According to reports, his open support for APC may worsen PDP divisions, especially in regions where he holds strong political influence. Though Wike hasn’t clarified support for APC, his remarks have led some PDP members to question his loyalty to party goals.
The Minister, on Friday, explained why he didn’t support Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, during the 2023 presidential election. According to him, the LP candidate is a social media aspirant and doesn’t have a realistic chance of winning the election.
Wike noted that he prioritizes analyzing candidates with the capability to win and not contenders that are popular online. The Former Governor of Rivers State commended Tinubu for winning the election despite the turbulent environment at the time. He praised the president for navigating the difficulties imposed by administration policies during the time of the election.
The minister concluded by acknowledging the political experience and strategy that helped Tinubu emerge as the winner of the election.
