Adefowora Abiodun, one of the suspected promoters of the cryptocurrency trading platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange, who was recently declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has voluntarily submitted himself to the anti-graft agency.

Abiodun, accompanied by his lawyers, reported at the EFCC headquarters around 4:00 p.m. on Monday, expressing his readiness to cooperate with investigators.

His lawyer, Babatunde Busari, confirmed the development, saying his client voluntarily surrendered to clear his name and correct the “false narrative” making the rounds in the media.

“My client decided to submit himself for investigation in order to clear his name and correct the false narrative being widely circulated in the media,” Busari said.

Last week Thursday, Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja had granted the EFCC’s request to arrest and detain six promoters of Crypto Bridge Exchange pending the conclusion of investigations into their alleged offenses and possible prosecution.

All six individuals were subsequently declared wanted for their alleged involvement in a fraudulent investment scheme estimated at over $1 billion.

Following the court ruling and the EFCC’s declaration, Abiodun made the decision to present himself before the agency.

Meanwhile, the EFCC has continued its investigation into the alleged massive fraud involving Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).
