The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has responded to a wave of public complaints trailing the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, assuring candidates and the general public that necessary steps are being taken to investigate and resolve the issues.
The examination body, in a statement signed by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said it has commenced a fast-tracked review of the entire UTME process—a practice usually carried out months after the examination.

The Board explained that its post-examination review covers the stages of registration, examination, and result release, with particular attention now being paid to complaints arising from certain states across the country.
“We are particularly concerned about the unusual complaints originating from a few states within the Federation,” the statement read. “We are currently scrutinising these complaints in detail to identify and rectify any potential technical issues.”
To ensure objectivity and transparency, JAMB disclosed that it has engaged a team of experts to support the review process. These include professionals from the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, heads of tertiary institutions serving as Chief External Examiners, the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa, as well as measurement and evaluation specialists and Vice Chancellors.
Dr. Benjamin assured that candidates who experienced any form of disruption or technical glitch during the examination process would be given another opportunity to write the test.
“If it is determined that there were indeed glitches, we will implement appropriate remedial measures promptly, as we do in the case of the examinations themselves,” he added.
The Board urged candidates and stakeholders to remain calm while the ongoing investigations are concluded.
JAMB released the 2025 UTME results last Friday, prompting a surge of concerns on social media and other platforms, with some candidates alleging discrepancies or technical hitches during the conduct of the exam.
