The Ebute Ero Police Division operatives in Lagos, during their daily surveillance patrol has apprehended one male suspect, Jackson Abraham, for the possession of a stolen vehicle.
This development was made known by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Benjamin Hundeyin via a statement released on the state’s command official X page.
Benjamin Hundeyin, told newsmen on Wednesday that the suspect was arrested while driving an ash coloured Mitsubishi Space vehicle which has been reported stolen from a parking space in Ogun State.
The PPRO said that during the initial investigation, it was discovered that the suspect took the vehicle without the owner’s permission, while noting that the suspect and the owner both live at the same address.
He said that the vehicle was recovered intact and has been taken to the police station.
Also, the rightful owner, who reported the vehicle missing to the Ogun State Police Command has been contacted and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
Hundeyin added the suspect is still in detention as arrangements are being to transfer him and the recovered vehicle to Ogun State, where the case was originally reported.
However, Hundeyin relayed the commitment of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh to ensuring public safety.
He also encouraged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately, stressing that community cooperation is the key to effective crime prevention.
