Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has disclosed his intention to boost revenue by maximizing lithium reserves in the state. This is to ensure the establishment of Nigeria’s first electric vehicle manufacturing company in the state.
The Governor said this on Wednesday at an event organized to celebrate the two years of his second tenure in office. He explained that the recent inauguration of the lithium processing factory built by Avatar New Energy Materials Company Limited in Nasarawa has brought significant attention to the state.
According to Sule, the step towards establishing the state’s first electric vehicle factory aligns with the Federal Government’s clean energy drive. These include efforts to minimize reliance on fossil fuels and promote clean energy in the country.
Additionally, he promised that his administration would continue to engage prospective partners to ensure the completion of the next stage. Sule noted that aside having lithium reserves, he’s also invested in ensuring that the production of the battery and assembling of the vehicle is done in the state.

Further, the governor expressed confidence that his remaining time in office would surpass the achievements of the past two years. He commended President Bola Tinubu for his economic reforms and pledged full alignment with them to advance both the state and the nation.
Sule also thanked the organizers, a group under the aegis of Abdullahi Sule Gidan-Gidan Support Group, for honoring his government through the event, pledging to deliver democratic gains to every resident.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, explained that while Nasarawa has always had lithium, it was the Governor’s vision and innovation that revealed its potential to the outside world. He further stressed the government’s commitment to leveraging these natural resources to attract investors to the state.
