Afrocover News invites young African students with a passion for writing and strong opinions on social concerns. The goal of this competition is to encourage young Africans, through their writing skills, to express their original, unbiased, and thought-provoking perspective on society, using politics as a lens.

Submission Guidelines
• Must be the original writing of the participant.
• Do not use AI—all submissions will be checked. AI-generated content leads to disqualification.
• Do not plagiarize—credit all sources appropriately.
• Submit your article in English only. If written in other African languages, please submit the English translation only.
• Do include your name in the submitted document.
• There are only three accepted file formats: pdf, doc, or txt.
• Font and Format: Times New Roman, 12 pts, 1.5 or double spacing
• Word count: maximum of 1000 words, excluding title
• Do not add your names, email, phone number and any other personal detail in your essay
• Submission deadline: 15th of August 2025 by 11:59pm (WAT)
• Winner will be announced and published on 31th of August 2025
