The family of the late Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has described the death of Dr. Paul Akintelure, as sad and shocking. This was made known in a statement issued by Richard Olatunde, on behalf of the family in Akure, the state capital.

According to the statement, the late Akintelure had been a friend of the family since he contested the 2012 governorship election with the late Akeredolu as his deputy on the platform of the defunct ACN.

It reads” We particularly considered this sad incident not only as a loss to the State but also as a heavy blow to the progressive family.”

“This unfortunate loss represents a sorrowful chapter in the political space, which breeds lasting pain and unpleasant memories.”

“Dr. Akintelure was a resourceful, highly cerebral, and principled medical professional whose foray into politics was propelled by his love for service.”

“The late Akintelure spent quality time with Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu. His death has further deepened our grief. He will be greatly missed.”

“We acknowledge that death is a price we all have to pay. However, the reality of death is truly devastating. Our hearts are heavy. A bright star and valuable ally has been lost.”

“We extend our condolences to the good people of Ikale Land, the people of Ondo State, the APC, and our President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.”

“It is our prayer that the departed soul finds solace in the Lord’s Bosom, even as we continue to pray to God to provide strength and comfort to all the loved ones he left behind.”
