The Economic Financial Crime Commission, EFCC stated it has arrested two self-acclaimed spiritualists over a fraud of N24m. The two suspects, identified as Alfa Abiodun Ibrahim and Wale Adifala were arrested in Ado-Ekiti on July 7, 2022.

The suspects were apprehended following a petition leveled against them by an aspiring member of the House of Representatives in Ekiti.

As revealed, the suspect obtained the sum of N24m from the aspirant which they contend was to be used to secure spiritual help for his political desire. The victim was said to have lost his political bid after giving them the said sum.

Interrogating the suspects, Adifala stated: “I also linked up on the matter with Ifawole Ajibola (at large), and we continued with the sacrifices together, until we were arrested by the EFCC,”

Ibrahim further stated “Our own was just to pray and do the necessary sacrifices, which we did, and to leave the rest to God. However, along the line, the zoning for the reps seat was taken away from Oye-Ekiti to Ikole-Ekiti.”
