Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has accused Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of negligence over uncompleted projects in the state. The party, in a statement, disclosed that the governor is attempting to destroy the legacy of his predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

The Party adds that they are worried about Aiyedatiwa’s incompetence in completing the projects unfinished by the late former governor. According to the party, the state governor flaunted his authority as he vowed to stop projects he didn’t fancy. Aiyedatiwa was also said to have urged the beneficiaries of the project, to complete the unfinished projects.

The party continued that their allegations are very true because aiyedatiwa has been wavering, despite the resources at his disposal. Reacting to this, the All Progressive Congress (APC), media director, Steve Otaloro, debunked the allegations as false.

According to him, the state governor Is working efficiently and making efforts to complete the former governor’s projects. The media director adds that PDP is making hopeless attempts for relevance through fabricated claims.

He notes that the opposition party has been a public objector to the state government since the last governorship election. Otaloro accused the party of false criticisms rather than promoting unity and understanding for the state’s development.

He continued that all unfinished projects under Akeredolu are being observed and acknowledged by the present administration. Otaloro advised the opposition party to focus on developing the party which has been defecting rapidly.

The state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa stepped into office after Akeredolu died from illness, on December 27, 2023. He thereafter won the governorship ticket of the party and won the November 16, 2024 election.
