Breaking: Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, dies at 91

Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland, has passed away.

The revered monarch, who ascended the throne in 1960, died on Sunday at the age of 91, Afrocover gathered.

A reliable source close to the Awujale Palace in Ijebu-Ode and officials within the Ogun State Government confirmed the monarch’s death on Sunday.

Oba Adetona, a frontline traditional ruler in Ogun State, was one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning monarchs and a highly respected voice among Yoruba kings and across the nation.
