Customs arrest 3 persons, confiscate 605 bags of rice, others

The Zone D operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service has confiscated contrabands valued at about N126, 560, 131 between January to June 2022.

The Unit also confirmed that it made three arrests within those periods.

 

The Comptroller of the Unit, Adesanmi Omiye disclosed the development in a press conference held on Thursday.

Omiya acknowledged the team efforts, commitments, and doggedness of the operatives in the zone in achieving the seizures and arrests.

As revealed, the items seized during the January to June operations within the zone included seven vehicles used in conveying contrabands, 215 cartons of foreign soap, 605 bags of 50kg foreign rice, 54 bales of second hand cloths, 3,000 litres of engine oil, 500 litres of petrol and a host of others.

The Comptroller further confirmed that the unit made three arrests in connection with the seizures.
