Angel Di Maria, Argentine winger, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star has consented to a one-year transfer agreement to Juventus.

Having collected several trophies and playing at PSG for the past seven years; the club has however decided to let him go. And they are doing this by not renewing his contract which is scheduled to terminate by summer; at the end of this season.

However, with news of Juventus’ interest in the player; his last match for PSG would be against Metz on Saturday 21st, May 2022. Upon completion of the match, Di Maria would become a free agent and can go to whatever club he desires.

According to a popular sports site, Juventus has agreed to sign the player on a contract that is expected to last for a year; that is, till the end of the 2022-23 football season.

With the high speed of negotiations going on over the past day with all parties involved, Juventus may have the opportunity to keep him for another season.

PSG’s investment in Di Maria

Earlier in 2015, PSG purchased Di Maria from Manchester United for the sum of €52 million (£44m/$65m). Looking at this deal, and Di Maria’s achievement in the club, it boils down to the fact that the deal is a fair one.

Di Maria’s time in PSG

Furthermore, during his time in PSG, he has won five Ligue 1 titles, coupled with Five Coupe de France cups and Trophee Des Champions. He was also a major player during the club’s Champions League campaign in the 2019-20 season, where they eventually lost in the final.

With 294 total appearances, Di Maria scored 92 goals and about 118 goal assists for his teammates; during his time at the club. Upon his departure, he will always be regarded as one of the greatest players to have ever graced PSG.
