Edo man remanded for killing worshipper, dumping corpse

A man identified as Aipoh John has been remanded in Oko Custodian Centre for allegedly killing a woman, Precious Ikpihumi. The incident reportedly took place in Benin City, Edo State.

The suspect was arraigned on one count of murder. The prosecuting counsel revealed to the court that the defendant murdered the victim on May 1 2022 around Ugbowo area. He reportedly accosted the victim on her way to church and dragged her into an uncompleted building where he murdered her.

John however pleaded not guilty to the crime. The presiding judge of the high court, Justice M.Isuele remanded him and adjourned the case till Jan 18 for hearing.
