After the sentence of popular cross-dresser Idris Okuneye known as Bobrisky, the EFCC has intensified its fight against Naira abuse. Recently, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed a three-count charge against popular Instagram celebrity Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest.
The anti-graft agency alleged that the celebrity sprayed and tampered with the naira at an event which violates the Central Bank Act Of 2007. According to reports, EFFC prosecutor, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN) submitted the charges on April 4, 2024. Hence, on April 17, Cubana Chief Priest will appear before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the federal high court.
Furthermore, the first count of the charges alleged that the celebrity on February 13, 2024 during an event at Eko Hotel during a social event tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria. More so, the first count stated that the celebrity sprayed the money for about two hours.
According to the EFCC, Cubana Chief Priest committed abusing the naira is an offense that is punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007. Similarly, the second count established how the celebrity during a social event in Lagos around 2020, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
As revealed, the EFCC alleged that Cubana Chief Priest sprayed the money for some hours which is an offense that is punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007. Lastly, the third count narrated how the celebrity in January 2024 during an event in Lagos, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, In a viral video circulating online, Cubana Chief Priest was seen spraying the Nigerian currency an offense that recently resulted in a six-month jail sentence for Bobrisky.
