Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have reportedly released the students of Federal University of Technology Akure that were earlier whisked away from their private hostels today.
Recall the the operatives forced their way into the hostels of the students last midnight. According to one of the victims who pleads anonymity, the operatives invaded her hostel and burgled into her room at a time she was completely naked.
Shortly after the news dominated the airspace, the student union body of the institution started a protest to demand the unconditional release of their students.
Meanwhile, this development comes barely a few months after the EFCC boss issued a directive that personnel of the commission must not engage in mid-night raids.
