Two people have been indicted for conspiring to bring a child to the united kingdom to harvest the child’s organ. The two Nigerians identified as Ike Ekweremadu, a former deputy senate president and his wife Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu have been remanded and will appear before Cambridge magistrate court today.
The indictment was bought against the Nigerian duo after an investigation by Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime team.
The child’s identity although withheld is been safeguarded.
According to the force, the investigation started following an alert received by the detective on potential offenses under modern slavery legislation in May 2022.
