An Ex-Policeman, Muhammed Alidu has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court for defiling a 9-year-old minor.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the judge, Justice Abiola Soladoye held that the prosecution had proved the accusation of defilement against the convict beyond any reasonable doubt.

Soladoye said she was embarrassed by the distasteful act by a policeman who was meant to protect law and order.

“He is a disgrace to the entire police because he failed to uphold law and order as he went on a frolic of his own by engaging in bizarre and irresponsible behavior turning the barracks into a sex den.

The judge, however, sentenced him to life imprisonment and ordered that his name be inserted in the sex offenders register.

Four persons were said to have testified against the ex-police who committed the offense in 2018 at Barracks road, Oshodi, Lagos.

The convict was reported to have waylaid the survivor on her way to school and forced her into a wooden house before defiling her.

Mohammed was reported to have confessed to the crime, saying it was the work of the devil.
