The Federal Government, through the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has confirmed the commencement of pension payments and other entitlements to retired military personnel.
The Minister made this known in a statement issued by Henshaw Ogubike, the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Defence.
Recall that retired military personnel had halted activities at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja to express their grievances.
They expressed frustration over the government’s failure to pay the promised 20% to 28% salary increment and other financial commitments earlier promised.
