Fire has destroyed a store and toilet at the Bayero University staff primary school site in Kano. This development was made known through a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano fire service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, on Wednesday. The PRO stated the incident occurred on Tuesday evening.
According to the Alhaji Saminu, a distress call was received around 05:53 pm from one Halliru Bello, and the rescue team was sent around 5:58 pm to the scene to stop the fire from spreading to other classes.
He further stated the ground floor building of about 200ft by 200ft used as staff child primary school, one block containing Headmaster’s office, men staff room, women staff room were slightly burnt while one store and one toilet were completely razed by the inferno. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
