The names of Ghanaian military men who died in a helicopter crash on Wednesday have been released by the Ghanaian government. The helicopter, which belongs to the Ghana armed forces, lost contact during a flight from the capital to a southern part of the country.
According to the Ghanaian government on X( formerly known as Twitter), the victims comprise 8 people. The national government stated that the dead bodies were transported from the crash site through the country’s aircraft and received in Accra on Wednesday.
Notable officials like the Acting Director General, Public Relations, Ghana Navy, government personnel, and others were present to receive the bodies. The body appreciated the people in the crash site area and security officials for their support during recovery operations.

Brogya Genfi, deputy minister for defence, extended the government’s condolences to the families of the victims. Following this, the country’s president, John Mahama, has suspended all activities, describing the sad incident as a national tragedy.
The country president, Mahama, also directed that flags fly at half mast to honor the memory of the victims. Below are the names and portfolios of the victims

8. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed – Minister for Environment, Science and Technology
