The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the posting of CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, as the new Commissioner of Police for Kano state command.
Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a press statement, Monday in Abuja, said the deployment aligned with the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force CNPF) to enhancing security and ensuring effective policing in the state.
He said, “CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, a highly experienced and dedicated officer, has served in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities, including as a Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Inspector-General of Police, and Commissioner of Police in the Homicide Section of the Force Criminal Investigation Department.
“His extensive experience in operations, intelligence, and security management makes him well-suited to lead the Kano State Command.”
The statement revealed further, that the IGP has charged CP Bakori to bring his vast knowledge and expertise to bear in ensuring the safety and security of residents of Kano State.
“He is expected to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor, strengthen community policing initiatives, and foster collaboration with relevant stakeholders to enhance public trust and security.
“The Force calls on the good people of Kano State to support the new Commissioner of Police in the discharge of his duties,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, Bakori, who is the 47th Commissioner of Police in Kano State, took over from the former Commissioner, Salman Dogo Garba who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
Born on 6th February 1969, in Katsina Local Government Area of Katsina State, he enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 15th August 1996 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and trained at the prestigious Police Academy Wudil, Kano.
The new Commissioner holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from Nassarawa State University, Keffi, a Master’s in Peace, Conflict and Strategic Studies, from Kaduna State University as well as a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Abuja
The Kano State Police Command calls on the people of the State to extend maximum support and cooperation to the new CP in his quest to make Kano more safer and secure.
