The Joint Admission and Matriculation Body in a recent post have disregarded posts relating to rescheduling the just concluded UTME examination. The board cautioned candidates and other bodies to beware of fraudulent activities. It also gave notice against those circulating erroneous claims of error in scoring 2022 candidate results.
According to a statement released to press by the examination body’s public relations officer, Fabian Benjamin, it stated UTME is a computer-based examination scored electronically. He also stated the board has no plan to conduct the examination again.
He added that sequence of the unfounded rumors circulating on the internet is mere products of the deceitful brains of the masterminds of these baseless imputations. Hence, the board stated that there is no room for mistakes in its electronic scoring system, nor does it schedule to make such errors.
According to Benjamin “This clarification became essential following news of a proposed rescheduling of the UTME from a section of the social media citing phantom errors in the computer scoring system and a purported apology from JAMB to the effect that another UTME would be organized.
The board not only debunked the news but also described it as mischievous and misleading which is crafted out of frustration. According to the body, the frustration is crafted out of inability of fraudsters to defraud candidates due to a series of innovative strategies put in place by the board.
It would recall that the board had envisioned l some of these inglorious strategies of these fraudulent individuals and had sounded a warning to the candidates and the general public also to prevent the possibility of becoming victims of the evil machinations of fraudsters.
JAMB has again, admonished the general public to ignore items of news as it does not originate from JAMB, nor has it mandated any individual or group to make such a pronouncement on its behalf.
The Board, therefore, advises candidates to make use of all available user-friendly advisories on assessing their 2022 UTME results and other processes through periodic visits to www.jamb.gov.ng.”
